The Temple Har Zion Festival Committee recognizes the Jewish Festivals throughout the year by organizing enjoyable family events at which members can celebrate and learn! Family friendly activities for all ages involve older siblings in making holidays come alive for the youngest ones.
Sukkot Join us on Sukkot, as we create many fun crafts to decorate our beautiful new Sukkah and enjoy stories and demonstrations with the Lulav and Etrog with Rabbi Weiss inside the Sukkah! Stay for a Potluck dinner and Sukkot Family Service.
Hanukkah Hanukkah is an exciting time for the children of Temple Har Zion, and we celebrate together with a party! Crafts and games galore are followed by a highly entertaining Hanukkah play put on by our own students. Then we enjoy a sit- down Hanukkah dinner of delicious homemade latkes prepared by your Festival Committee and Rabbi Weiss! Bring your Hanukkiyot (Hanukkah menorahs) and join your Temple family as we light the candles. Dinner is followed by a Shabbat Family Service and fabulous Hanukkah songs.
Purim The Purim Carnival is a hit with the kids all the way up to the Moms and Dads and Bubbies and Zaidys who bring them! Win fun prizes at our Carnival games and enjoy arts and crafts, face painting and an amazing Magic show by a professional magician. Don't forget to make your Mishloach Manot baskets and have Queen Vashti tell your fortune in her tent! And of course, there is always yummy food; hamentashen, pizza and popcorn! | ||
